After many recommendations, John and I finally tried the Sevens Cafe on Louisiana Street in South Buffalo. This cute little spot is located in a mixed-use building with shops on the first floor with local artists' art installations and apartments on the second and third floors. The hair salon/tattoo studio Oak & Iron is in the same building!
While there are tables within the cafe itself, there are also tables behind the cafe inside the building! John and I sat there both times we visited. The exposed brick and low foot traffic makes it a cute date spot for us to relax and enjoy our food & drinks. There is a gym next door that plays music a little loud, but they were playing some bangers, so I didn't mind that much.
On our first trip to Sevens, John and I both got iced chai lattes and a pastry. I got a morning bun with lemon and John got the sausage roll. The best part? The lattes come with oat milk by default... and the sausage wasn't from a pig. This queer and women owned business is fully vegan!! These lesbians cooked fr. The morning bun was very sweet and incredibly soft and flaky. The sausage roll was a more savory option, so I didn't enjoy my bite very much, but John basically licked their plate clean!
John was practically begging to go back after that! On our next trip, the new monthly specials really caught our eyes. I got a hot solstice latte and John got a cappuccino to drink. I chose a blackberry and lemon cruffin (croissant-muffin lovechild), and John got another sausage roll and their seasonal sweet potato, miso, and ginger soup. This time, the cups we got the drinks in were like recycled plastic, which I thought was kind of odd.
Nonetheless, the solstice latte was a delight of smooth pumpkin spice and cinnamon flavors! The cruffin was so delicious and every bite had the perfect mix of sweet and sour. The bread that came with John's soup was also very good! It was a little oily, but very light and perfect for dipping. Again, the savory options are not my thing, but John shares very high praises.
Overall, Sevens cafe is a fantastic shop with delicious drinks and food, with vibes that are simply unmatched. I don't know how they choose their monthly specials, but that person needs a raise and some head. Five out of five stars!
