John and I had plans around 3pm on a Saturday, so we decided to try a cafe that we had seen ads for. Cafe Bewilderment is located in The Monocle on Hertel Ave in Buffalo. They serve coffee drinks, pastries and other light food options, and cocktails. The vibe is upscale with a mix between modern and art deco themes, and added greenery around as well.

I ordered an iced chai latte with oat milk and a peach crisp kek, while John got a cappuccino and a cardamom knot. Overall, I thought everything was fine. The drinks and pastries were good and satisfying, but they weren't overwhelmingly amazing. Just fine.

The energy of the place was very weird. The building, The Monocle, is painted entirely black and definitely stands out on Hertel Ave (they have since painted a huge ornate mural over it all, and it does look very nice and inviting now!). The interior is a mix of designs: art deco, modern, log cabin, cozy bookstore, nightlife. The cafe is located on the lower level of the building, and finding the right entrance was kind of difficult. Overall, I think I would give this place a 6 out of 10. It's worth a try, but I probably won't be going out of my way to go back.

"I really liked the vibe they were going with, I just wish the plants were real. There was a lot of fake greenery, and I wish that those elements were real. The food and drinks were really good."
